TOP 6 myths about dermal fillers
Dermal fillers will not look natural.
Dermal fillers are products used as a substitute for the amount of a lost fat tissue as we age. Hyaluronic acid itself is a natural element of our skin that is lost with aging and therefore the skin becomes more dry and wrinkles more visible.
If the treatment is done with care and proper aesthetic plan, you will look natural and rejuvenated. Of course, if too much filler is applied or is applied in the wrong place, it will look unnatural.
If I do not like the result, it will stay like that forever.
Today, mostly hyaluronic acid-based agents are used (In Polyclinic Knezović we use only high quality formulas based on hyaluronic acid), so if you do not like the result, there is a product called hyaluronidase that breaks down the hyaluronic acid and so that the filler disappears .
Also, skin enhancement with dermal fillers is temporary. Hyaluronic acid is an integral part of our skin and the filler eventually resorbs and ultimately disappears from the skin as well as our natural hyaluronic acid.
It will be painful.
There is a possibility of complete numbing of the lips by using anesthetics that are applied to your lips (you may have already had the same experience when you visited dentist).
This is a method we do not usually use in the Knezović Polyclinic because it is harder to foresee gravitational effect of the filler after such application of the anesthetic.
There are topical ointment anesthetics, which are applied on the injection site, providing additional relief.
In this type of anesthesia, you will feel a little “pain”, however, it is more a sense of discomfort.
Dermal filers can replace surgical facelift, the result is the same.
While dermal filers give volume and can give a “raised look”, they can not replace the results of the surgical procedure. The surgical procedure raises and tightens the deeper tissue with the removal of the excess of loosened skin.
What can be done is a combination of a surgical procedure and a dermal filler application. This way, an optimal younger look can be achieved.
Dermal fillers must often be added and repeated.
It is true that many fillers have to be added again, but the frequency of maintenance is not as long as it is thought. This depends on the factors that are: the filler used, the location where the filler is applied and the activity level of the person.
Fillers can be repeated once in six to eight months or once a year, depending on the above mentioned factors.

No difference is seen before and after filler application
Although the results may be subtle, there are also results that are very pronounced. If by any case your budget is limited, it is better to apply filler in one area than to place smaller quantities in more places.
After the application of the filler (especially in the lips), many patients gently swell up and think that the lips will remain that size, however, after 24 to 48 hours the swelling is almost completely resorbed.
If you come for the first filler application, your doctor will often apply a lower dose to see if you are happy and if you still want to, then you can add some more filler.
Especially if you come to the filler application for the first time, the difference before and after will be visible but to a lesser extent than the patients who have repeated the treatment because the filers are upgraded. With every new treatment, you will see a bigger difference with the same amount of dermal fillers.
